In The Footsteps of Moses

This biblical journey follow the footsteps of Mosses; it starts in Egypt where Mosses left for Holy Land, follows to Mt. Sinai where he received the Ten Commandments, cross the Red Sea, end up in Jordan, part of Aqaba.

It takes us to the magnificent Petra, Mt. Nebo where Moses looked the Holly Land across Jordan River and end up in Holy Land. It is a educational and spiritual journey through the bible, history, culture, people, magnificent landscape vistas of your heart and soul.

Day 1

Depart the USA. Overnight flight to Cairo

Day 2 ~ Cairo

Arrival in Cairo will be followed with a transfer to your hotel for overnight.

Day 3 ~ Cairo

This morning we will start our day with a drive to the famous Giza Plateau and visit the Great Pyramids, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Sightseeing includes: the Great Pyramid of Cheops from inside, middle Pyramid of Chephren and the small one of Mykerinos, as well as the Solar Boat Museum and the Mysterious Sphinx. Then we will travel to Saqqara, which is the part of Memphis' massive necropolis to see the first pyramids built in Egypt 'the Step Pyramid', designed for  Pharaoh Djoser by Imhotep.

We will end the day touring the museum of Memphis which  houses a colossal statue of Ramses II and the alabaster sphinx. Overnight in Cairo

Day 4 ~ Sinai

This morning we will cross the Red Sea to Sinai Peninsula to visit this interesting part of Egypt, famous for its Red Sea known as one of the best snorkeling site in the World, Mt. Sinai, Monasteries, legends and miracles.

Once we arrive in St. Katherine, we check in our hotel and to get ready for our early morning Mt. Sinai clime for sunrise.

Day 5 ~ Petra

We start our day very early morning in order to be at the top of Mt. Sinai before dawn in order to experience the magnificent sunrise.

Once the sun is out you feel you are sitting on the top of the World, everything around you look so low and so far away except Mt. St. Katherine across you.

Then we will descent for St. Katherine Monastery which was built by Helena the mother of Constantine the Great around the Burning Bushes.

We will take a boat crossing the Red Sea from Nuweiba to Aqaba, after border formalities we will be transferred to Petra.

Day 6 ~ Petra

Petra, for a full day tour to the Red Rose City Petra one of the greatest and most beautiful archaeological sites in the world.  We will begin an unforgettable trip on horse back till the Siq after by foot through the narrow passage between the massive walls of rock that provides the main access to the ancient site. Entering Petra through this chasm till we reach our first glimpse of the Treasury, whose towering façade bedecked with magnificent columns was made famous in the final sequence of the popular Hollywood film /Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade/. we will visit the Theater, the Royal Tombs, the Great Temple, and the Petra Church.  back to hotel , over night in Petra.

Day 7 ~ Dead Sea

Today, we will take Kings’ Highway via Wadi Al Mujib a deep and majestic cut through rugged highlands that drains into the Dead Sea. We will drive by and view the picturesque Crusader Kerak Castle, stop at Madaba which  has some of the finest Byzantine mosaics in the world including the famous 6th century mosaic map of Holyland.and Mount Nebo, the highest in the Moabit range which has been the center for pilgrimages since early Christian times, and from where Mosses looked over the Holy Land across the Jordan River. Then we drive down to the lowest point on Earth the Dead Sea, 1,200 feet below Sea level.

Day 8 ~ Sea of Galilee

This morning we will drive to Bethany to visit the Baptismal site on River Jordan before we cross the Jordan-Israel border for Jericho.

Jericho, city of Palms and one of the oldest cities in the World, and through which Jesus passed on this way to Jerusalem.

Here we will visit the ancient site of Jericho, the sycamore fig tree, the Mount of Temptation before we head to Sea of Galilee.

Day 9 ~ Sea of Galilee

We will spend the full day to explore the natural beauty and incredible history of this region where Jesus spent most of his three year public ministry.

We start our day with a drive to Mount of Beatitudes to visit the Church of the Beatitudes located in colorful garden with a magnificent view over the Sea of Galilee and the surrounding villages doted along the mountains.

Then we head to Tabgha considered to be the most beautiful and serene of the Christian holy places where we visit the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and the Fishes. We continue to visit the Church of St. Peter’s Primacy and Capernaum, Korasin, Kursi & Bethsaida and Yardenit.

Day 10 ~ Sea of Galilee

This morning we will visit Bet Shean, one of the most extensive ancient sites in Israel. Then we drive to Mt. Tabor where Jesus was transfigured in the eyes Peter, James and John, then we will stop in a small, peaceful village called Nain where Jesus performed the miracle of restoring the widow’s son to life, finally we visit Cana, the site where Jesus performed his first miracle before we return our hotel at Sea of Galilee

Day 11 ~ Jerusalem

We start our day to visit Nazareth where Jesus spent his childhood, and then we stop at Mt. Megiddo, the site where St. John predicted the last great battle on earth.

We continue to drive along the Mediterranean coast to famous city of Caesarea which history going back to the Phoenician time and one of the greatest cities Herod the Gear build. We will visit archaeological ruins and excavations. Our final stop today at Mediterranean coast is to visit Jaffa, one of the charming cities in Middle East before we arrive in Jerusalem.

Day 12 ~ Jerusalem

Jerusalem, a city of 5,000 years of history, home of so many faiths and the center of the World. We devote the full day to explore and feel this magnificent city. We start with the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view over the old and new city. Then we enter the Old City and walk through the Armenian, Muslim and Jewish quarters, to the recently excavated and restored Cardo, the Roman road, see the Jewish Wailing Wall, the Kotel, and continue to the Christian quarter. We will along the Via Dolorosa and visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. We continue to the New City; view the Knesset, Israel’s parliament and visit Yad Vashem, the Memorial to the Holocaust.

Day 13 ~ Jerusalem

Via the Judean Hills we drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada. We will ascend by cable car and tour the mountain fortress built by King Herod, where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans. Here we visit the remains of the walls, palaces, the synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors roman bath

On the way to Jerusalem we will stop at biblical oasis of Ein Gedi where david withdrew with his men in his flight from Saul.

Day 14 ~ Jerusalem

This morning we will visit Bethlehem the city where Jesus was born and we visit the church of the Nativity.

In the afternoon we will drive to Mt. Zion to visit Upper room, St. Peter Galicantu Church, Tomb of King David and Dormition abbey.

Day 15 ~ Home

We will transfer you to Tel Aviv airport for your home flight.
